Mt. Paran student a P.E.O. STAR Scholarship recipient

May 5—Anastasia "Ana" Buchan, a senior at Mt. Paran Christian School, was recently selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She was recommended by P.E.O. Chapter BI of Woodstock.

Buchan will be attending The University of Georgia in the fall. She plans to double major in Accounting and Theatre, and has been accepted into the Honors Program. She recently completed her tenure serving as a State Thespian Officer for Georgia Thespian.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women. The highly competitive STAR Scholarship recognizes young women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.

Founded in 1869, the Philanthropic Educational Oganization has helped more than 119,000 women pursue educational goals by providing over $398 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans.
