Correction: A previous version of this article misstated Kristie Sluder's and Michelle Antalec's campaign finance records. Their records have been updated to reflect their submissions.

Campaign finance reports are required by candidates and run on a regular schedule with the most recent submission due on Jan. 26, 2024, the year-end semi-annual report. The largest contribution any individual or political committee can make in one election cycle is $6,400 — with exceptions for the candidate, their spouse and recognized executive committees of any political party.

In Buncombe County, there are races for districts 116, 115 and 114 in the House of Representatives and in Senate districts 46 and 49. In Henderson County, races for seats in the House of Representatives are taking place in districts 113 and 117. There is also an open seat in Senate District 48.
