How much rain did the Gardner area get last night? Here's the rainfall totals

Many communities in North Central Massachusetts were hit with five consecutive hours of heavy rainfall late last night. The worst of the storm that delivered extreme and dangerous amounts of rain to Leominster stayed about 15 miles east of Gardner.

The storm damaged roads and property in Leominster as well as forced more than 100 residents to evacuate their homes and into shelters.

According to the most recent National Weather Service rainfall report, Leominster got 9.5 inches of rain. Leominster was the city in Massachusetts with the most rainfall on Monday, Sept. 11, while neighboring Westminster received nearly 4 inches.
