How Much Rhode Island Households Make Per Year: Census

New town-by-town data shows how far above or below your community is to the state median.

For those who can never stop comparing, the Census released an early Christmas gift. The 2013-2017 American Community Survey issued by the Census last week disclosed a mountain of data, including how much household income is reported in each community.

Carolina topped the list with a median household income of $103,750. The small village of less than 1,000 people was one of three communities that had a median household income of more than $100,000; Ashaway and Harmony joined Carolina in the six-figure club.

Harrisville, which is in Burrillville, had the lowest median household income at only $28,977. The village was joined at the bottom by Central Falls, Woonsocket, and Providence, which had a household median income of only $40,366.

The national household median income is $57,652. Rhode Island had eight communities on the list earning less than that.
