As the winter weather swept through the Rochester region this week, snow accumulation varied across neighborhoods, with some areas receiving slightly more or less. Here are the latest snow amounts from the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

How much snow did Rochester NY get?

Three inches of snow was recorded at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport as of midnight, where the official snow measurements for Rochester are recorded by the Weather Service.

Parts of western New York saw nearly two feet of snow, while some lakeside counties in Central New York saw more than three feet of snow by Wednesday morning. Highmarket in Lewis County measured nearly 43 inches of snow around sunrise, and Redfield, Oswego County, tallied 33.5 inches at 7:30 a.m., according to the Weather Service.

Wednesday's high is expected to reach 33 degrees. The temperature is predicted to become much warmer on Thursday, with a expected high in the upper 40s. Highs are expected to remain in the 40s through early next week - in the lower 40s on Friday and Saturday and the upper 40s on Sunday and Monday.

How much snow does Rochester NY get?

Last winter, Rochester saw 50.4 inches of snow, with the snowiest month being March. Typically, measurable snowfall starts in November, though occasional flurries can occur in October (as they did Tuesday night) and snow can even fall as late as May in the region.
