Winter is coming... or a winter storm that is. A winter storm watch was put in place in Minnehaha County through Friday evening alongside a wind chill watch that will stretch from Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon.

Forecasts say Sioux Falls could see wind chill temperatures as low as -50, snow and wind that could make visibility a problem, especially for travelers.

Sioux Falls had a nearly 90% changes of seeing more than 2 inches of snow between Wednesday and Thursday morning, and a nearly 20% change of seeing more than 6 inches as of Tuesday's forecast.

  • 2.5" of snow reported in Hurley and Wall Lake
