A nor'easter could bring up 18 inches of snow to parts of New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service.

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency Friday, which will take effect at 5 p.m.

A Winter storm warning was issued for most of the state. Friday morning, a blizzard warning was issued for the Shore, where the most snow is expected. The watch and the blizzard warning go into effect at 7 p.m. Friday and will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday, according to the weather service.

Anywhere from 4-6 inches is possible for the northern part of the Garden State, while up to 18 inches are possible for Asbury Park — including along the entire NJersey coastline— and 5-8 inches are possible in the southern part of the state.
