How much snow will Seacoast NH and Maine get in storm? Here's what forecaster says

Seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine can expect snow Tuesday, but now the forecast is calling for much less than originally expected.

The storm has moved further south than expected, National Weather Service forecasts said later Monday, dropping predicted snowfall totals to a fraction of the 8-10 inches earlier forecasts had stated.

The storm is still expected to impact drivers with "the steadiest snow will fall late Tuesday morning into the early afternoon," according to the National Weather Service.

Minor coastal flooding is expected at high tide Tuesday afternoon in Seacoast New Hampshire and York County beach communities in Maine.

How much snow is expected in Seacoast?

How much snow you see will vary based on location. Snowfall predictions have been reduced to 1-4 inches in areas like Portsmouth and 2-4 inches inland in areas like Exeter, while areas a bit to the north, such as Rochester, may see even less.

What kind of weather will follow the storm?

This latest storm signals the end of the recent warmer winter weather for now. High temperatures are forecast for the rest of the week to be no more than in the 30s.

More rain and snow is expected Thursday night into Friday, but early forecasts don't call for major snowfall.
