Muenster native joins county attorney's office

Dec. 15—Cooke County Attorney Ed Zielinski has added Cooke County native Andrea Townsend to his staff.

Townshend was born and raised in Muenster, graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, she then attended the Texas Tech School of Law and graduated with her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2003.

Andrea has worked as an Assistant District Attorney throughout the North Texas area, including Tarrant, Denton, Ellis and Grayson counties.

"Over the course of her career, she has handled thousands of criminal cases as a prosecutor and defense counsel; including drug possession, driving while intoxicated, assault, family violence, sexual assault of a child, stalking, aggravated robbery, murder and capital murder," according to Zielinski. "... Andrea is a very welcome addition to the office, and we look forward to her joining our team."

She will replace D. Keith Orsburn, who is leaving the office in January to go into private practice in the Lake Kiowa area after 10 years as Assistant County Attorney.
