Muir Fire Prompts Closure of Shoreline Highway in Marin County

A new brush fire, dubbed the Muir Fire, ignited in Marin County, California, on October 24. The fire grew to 50 acres on Thursday afternoon and was at 20 per cent containment by 3.30 pm local time, according to the Marin County Fire Department.

The Marin Independent Journal reported the fire started near Slide Ranch, burning on both sides of Shoreline Highway between Stinson Beach and Muir Beach. The blaze prompted the closure of the highway.
