Multiple displaced after Kansas City apartment fire Thursday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Six adults and three children are now without a home following an apartment fire Thursday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Kansas City Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire around 4 p.m. near E. 27th Street and Tracy Avenue.

When fire crews arrived on scene they reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a three-story apartment building on all three floors in the rear of the structure.

After a search, the structure was reported to be clear and no injuries were reported.

Multiple pets were also rescued from the structure.

Dangerous buildings have been ordered along with KCPD bomb and arson.

The cause of this fire is under investigation.
