Multiple hit-making artists coming to Modesto region. Where, how to see them and more

There are plenty of hit-makers taking the stage as the Stanislaus County Fair continues its run in Turlock. Slightly Stoopid returns to Murphys and Prospect Theater Project brings a new production to its stage.

The final concert in the MoBand season also is on tap. Here’s a look at the entertainment in the Modesto region from July 8-14.

Stanislaus County Fair

The Stanislaus County Fair continues its run in Turlock with food, exhibits, a midway, entertainment and more. Upcoming artists performing on the free stage are: July 8, Ginuwine; July 9, El Dasa; July 10, Plain White Tees; July 11, Revisiting Creedence; July 12, Lit; July 13, All-American Rejects; and July 14, Blue Oyster Cult. The concerts begin at 8:30 p.m.

WHEN: Through July 16. Fairgrounds and buildings open 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; noon Saturday-Sunday. Buildings close nightly at 11 p.m., carnival and grounds close at midnight

Slightly Stoopid

Playing a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and the blues, the band Slightly Stoopid returns to the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys. Also appearing at the concert will be Sublime With Rome, Atmosphere and The Movement.

MoBand

The Modesto Band of Stanislaus County wraps up its 2023 season of concerts at Mancini Bowl. MoBand will play a selection of this season’s musical highlights on the Graceada Park stage.

Prospect production

Prospect Theater Project presents “Water by the Spoonful.” According to the theater’s website, it’s a story of boundaries of family and community stretched across continents as birth families splinter and online families collide. The play won a 2012 Pulitzer Prize. It includes adult language.

Art showcase

The Carnegie Art Showcase returns, a juried show that features new work by California artists in a variety of media. There will be a reception for the exhibit in the Ferrari Gallery of the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock on July 14 from 6-8 p.m.
