Multiple jurisdictions respond to Loudoun County building fire that caused $607K in damages

LOUDUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Multiple jurisdictions were deployed to fight a structure fire in Middleburg Tuesday.

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFR) along with crews from Middleburg, Philomont, Fauquier County, Fairfax County and Prince William County all responded to a 2-story commercial building fire around 1 p.m. in the unit block of West Washington St. in the Little River District.

Multiple command officers, a safety officer and a Rapid Intervention Taskforce brought more units to help the firefighters with the fire which was showing from the back of the building.

During the incident, someone from the Middleburg Police Department was hit by a car and was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

No other civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The LCFR Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the fire as an accident that stemmed from a power strip in a kitchen. The fire caused about $607,200 in damages, and one occupant was displaced.
