Multiple People Arrested as Trump Supporters and Proud Boys Rally in Salem

Multiple people were reportedly arrested after a rally involving Trump supporters and right-wing activists outside the Oregon State Capitol in Salem turned violent on September 7, according to local news reports.

The Oregonian reported that the “Cruise Rally”, organized by members of the Oregon For Trump 2020 Facebook page, began in the Portland suburb of Clackamas before part of the group splintered off for an event outside the capitol building.

The event reportedly involved both Trump supporters and members of the right-wing Proud Boys group, who were seen carrying guns, baseball bats and other weapons. A small number of counter-protesters were also present.

Several arrests were made after attendees set on some of the counter-protesters, attacking them with weapons and pepper spray.
