[UPDATED] Two Students Have Died Following a Shooting at a Santa Clarita High School This Morning

UPDATED 11/14/19 2:57 PM: Another student has died, adding to the death toll of the shooting this morning in Santa Clarita, California.

A 14-year-old male student and a 16-year-old female student have passed away from their gunshot wounds. There are still two females of 14 and 15 years of age and one male of 14 years of age who are in the hospital being treated, as well as the shooter who is in grave condition. The shooter fired off multiple bullets before shooting himself in the head, according to the county's sheriff.

Today was the shooter's sixteenth birthday. Students are saying the shooter posted about the shooting last night on social media, but that hasn't been confirmed.

UPDATED 11/14/19 1:24 PM: One person has died following the shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California this morning. CBS News is reporting that at least four patients were taken to the hospital, three boys and one girl. Two of those boys are in critical condition while one is in good condition and the girl has died from her injuries. There are reports that a teacher was shot protecting students, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The suspect, who was located and apprehended by police, is also in the hospital, being treated for reported self-inflicted gun shot wounds. As of now, the identity, as well as the motive, of the shooter is still unknown, though he was a student at the high school.

ORIGINAL POST: Three people have been injured, with two more in critical condition following a shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California this morning.

According to NBC News, an Asian male wearing black clothes entered the high school and began shooting around 8 a.m.. The boy is suspected to be about 15 years old.

The Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's office tweeted, warning people to stay away from area of the shooting, telling those in the neighborhood to lock their doors.

The LA County Sheriff informed the public via Twitter that the suspect is in custody and is being treated at a hospital.

Video from the scene shows students with their hands raised walking to school buses where armed deputies waited to take them to safety. Right now, only five people have been reported injured, not including the suspect, and they are being taken to the hospital.
