Last month we wrote about mummy blogger, Constance Hall, who hit the headlines for penning a brutally honest post about the realities of breastfeeding. But it seems Constance has another parenting point to get off her chest and this one is causing equally as much controversy.

Taking to social media once again, the 32-year-old mum-of-four has written another blog about going naked around your children.

“I advocate nakedness around your children, homes and husbands,” she wrote on Facebook and Instagram.

In an openly frank post the mum explained that she’s an advocate for nudity in the family home because she wants her children to be around realistic bodies and not just the ‘perfect’ bodies portrayed in the media.

“ I don’t want my boys expectations of women to resemble those that they see in magazines or TV nor do I want my girls expectations of themselves to,” she explained.

The parenting blogger from Perth also wanted to encourage her followers, who she calls Queens, to love their bodies no matter their flaws in a bid to challenge ‘unrealistic’ body ideals.

‘I believe that with the help of Queens loving themselves the next generations definition of beauty will be radically different and no longer will we idolise the unrealistic airbrushed idea of perfection that causes so much self doubt and depression,’ she wrote.

‘If you have stretch marks, a hairy minge, saggy boobs, smile lines, a wobbly belly or any other real women women traits, the world needs to be flooded with your image. We need change.’

Since posting this morning, her post has received over 46,000 likes, loves and ha ha’s on Facebook and 2,288 likes on Instagram.

Many of the comments on the post were praising the outspoken blogger for her pro-nudity stance. Others agreed with her body-positive sentiment and some were thanking the mum for giving their own body confidence a boost.

One fellow mum wrote: “I was trying on dresses last week with my 2 year old son sitting in the change room with me, feeling so gross with my stretch marks and big wobbly belly in my undies and bras he looks up at me and said “ mummy your so beautiful” it melted my heart and made me realise I need to stop being so uncomfortable with my body.”

But though most were in agreement that being naked around children could be beneficial, others took a more conservative viewpoint.

“I won’t be naked around my kids because, while I’ve made my peace with my body, I also believe in modesty,” one mother wrote. “My kids know I’m comfortable in my own skin and I’m teaching them to be happy in theirs and that’s the important thing.”

It isn’t the first time the parenting blogger has created a social media stir by writing about the, often uncomfortable, realities of parenthood. Her recent post on parental sex described the “3.5 minutes you get in between changing nappies and making food” to have some one-on-one time with your significant other while the kids are “distracted” went viral. And earlier this year she posted a picture of herself in just her underwear in a bit to encourage other mums to join her in sharing unedited pictures of themselves to boost their body confidence.

From breastfeeding to parental sex and now nakedness, it seems Constance is set on tackling parenting taboos one blog at a time.
