GRAMMY award-winning band Mumford & Sons will kick-off the series

Legends On Letterman, a new limited-run concert web series, celebrates the amazing musical acts that have performed on the Late Show with David Letterman in the 21 years the show has been on CBS.

GRAMMY award-winning band Mumford & Sons will kick-off the series with a performance on Tuesday, May 5 at 8/7c. The webcast, presented by Microsoft Surface, will be live-streamed and available on-demand on CBS.com.

Mumford & Sons made their U.S. late-night television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman on February 17, 2010, just prior to winning their first GRAMMY® Award and blowing up into a global sensation.

Mumford & Sons’ Legends On Letterman webcast performance will celebrate the group’s history with the Late Show, and will take place a day after the launch of their highly anticipated third album, Wilder Mind. The performance will feature new songs, including the album’s first single, “Believe,” as well as hits off of previous chart-topping albums Sigh No More and Babel.

Mumford & Sons is comprised of Ted Dwane (bass/vocals), Ben Lovett (keyboards/piano/vocals), Winston Marshall (guitar/banjo/vocals) and Marcus Mumford (lead vocals/guitar/drums). The British quartet is known for their unique fusion of rock, bluegrass and folk. The band debuted Stateside with their 2009, Sigh No More, and then followed it up three years later with, Babel, which garnered considerable critical acclaim and earned the band a GRAMMY® Award for “Album Of The Year.” Fans and critics alike are looking forward to the release of Mumford & Sons’ third album, Wilder Mind, which will drop May 4. To celebrate its release, the band will then kick off a U.S. and U.K. tour in June.
