MUNCIE, Ind. — City police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man who held up a southside convenience store in April.

According to Steve Cox, a captain with the Muncie Police Department, the bandit robbed a clerk at the Village Pantry at 2501 S. Macedonia Ave., between 3 and 4 a.m. on April 4.

The robber, armed with a handgun, was described as about 6 feet tall with a slim to medium build.

Cox released a pair of photos taken with a surveillance camera, and said investigators were hopeful someone might recognize the bandit's black hooded sweatshirt, with what is believed to be an image of movie star Marilyn Monroe with a bandanna over the lower portion of her face.

The robber was also wearing a bandanna over his face, along with dark sweatpants and black shoes.
