Mungia, Garner and Francis are Northern Indiana Conference MVPs

A handful of players and coaches earned top honors on the gridiron for the Northern Indiana Conference this fall.

Tabbed as league Most Valuable Players were running back Noah Mungia of New Prairie for the East-West Division and running back Sam Garner of Jimtown and receiver Caleb Francis of Riley in the North-South Division.

The coaching duo of Cory Yeoman of Penn and Cory Stoner of Jimtown earned the Coach of the Year accolades. Yeoman was honored in the East-West Division and Stoner in the North-South Division.

The East-West first team offense included center Auden Jones (Penn), along with lineman Jacob Mrozinski (New Prairie), Brayden Jellison (Elkhart), Kyle Dennison (Marian) and Brendan Huffman (Penn). Also on the list were tight end Gage Goralski (Penn), receivers Rodney Gates (Elkhart) and DJ White (Penn), running backs Mungia and Jake Balis (Penn), quarterback Nolan McCullough (Penn) and at-large selection Marshall Kmiecik (New Prairie).

The East-West first team defense included lineman Dylan Wilson (New Prairie), Moses Fortoso (Elkhart), Mike Fuller (Marian), Wallace Kennach (Penn) and Jack Aranowski (Saint Joseph). Also honored were linebackers Tayvion Ortman (New Prairie), Maurice Harris (Elkhart) and Ryan Treber (Penn), along with strong safety Tommy Powlus (Penn), defensive backs Gavin Houser (Elkhart), Taylor Bauer (Penn) and Deah McCullough (Saint Joseph) and at-large choice Brice VanBruaene (New Prairie).

Chosen as the East-West kicker was Josh Nziza (Adams) and the punter was Sam Sparks (Saint Joseph).

The North-South first team offense included center Connor McPhee (Jimtown), along with linemen Zach Schmucker (Bremen), Dominic Mitchell (Clay), Marcus Henderson (Riley) and Will Brinkhoff (Glenn). Also honored were tight end Taysire Williams (Jimtown) receivers Francis and Jason Dockery (Washington), running backs Garner and Lance Moser (Bremen), quarterback Austin White (Riley) and at-large selections Bishop Williams (Jimtown) and Tyrus Graverson (Bremen).

The North-South first team defense featured linemen Easton Reed (Bremen), Conner Watts (Jimtown), Marques Young (Riley) and Ty'shaun Grundy (Washington). Also honored were linebackers Austin McKenzie (Bremen), Kaden Rogers (Jimtown) and Jaime Gierlowski (Glenn), strong safety Seth Libey (Bremen), defensive backs Jackson Clopton (Jimtown), Robert Nabieu (Riley) and Ty-Ron Larkin (Glenn), and at-large picks Chase Miller (Glenn) and Quatez Foster (Riley).

The North-South kicker was Zach Pflugner (Riley) and the punter was AJ Ton (Bremen).

The East-West second team offensive choices were Dallas Ryans and Connor Plughaupt of New Prairie, Luke Davis, Rawkwan Lemons and Aalias Leonard of Elkhart, Giovanni Garcia and Braxton Brooks of Marian, Gavin Sparke of Saint Joseph, Elijah Coker, Dougie Searles and Josiah Williams of Penn and Solomon Parker of Adams.

The East-West second team defensive selections were Aidan Ziegler and Nathan Andrysiak of New Prairie, Braden Cook, Darreon Newson and Nathan Munson of Elkhart, Kaleb Johnson and Brian Bultnik of Marian, Sam Sullivan, Jackson Griffith and Dominic Bonner of Penn, Quinn Boyer and Austin Futa of Saint Joseph and Adreon Petty of Adams.

The North-South second team offensive selections were Anakin Coffman of Bremen, Marcus Rankin of Clay, Cole Dutton and Brodric Kaler of Jimtown, Marques Washington and Stacio Williams of Riley, Devin Devries and Alex Vaughn of Washington, Anthony Schmok, Shamar Jackson and Dominic Jolley of Riley and Michael Huffman of Clay.

The North-South second team defensive picks were Tavares Townsend, Ethan Witz, Eric Williams and Justin Smith of Riley, Cody Czarnecki and Brendon Richardson of Bremen, Diamond Curry and Ethan Bendt of Clay, Ty Zartman of Jimtown, Hakim Smith of Washington and Eli Beeney and Julian McMahan of Glenn.
