Municipal officeholders sworn in

Dec. 6—GREENSBURG — Several local officeholders elected in November gathered Friday in the Decatur County Circuit Courtroom to take the official oath of office.

Mark Carman led the Pledge of Allegiance and City Councilor Darrel Poling followed with an invocation.

Decatur County Republican Central Committee Chairman Nate Harter welcomed the assemblage to a meeting that was "solemn but celebratory." He spoke briefly about the call of a civil servant and their responsibilities to the public.

Judge Day began the official proceedings by swearing in Greensburg Mayor Josh Marsh, who ran unopposed and was sworn in to his second term.

Also sworn in during the ceremony were Greensburg Clerk-Treasurer Amy Borns; Kevin Fleetwood, District 1 Greensburg City Council; Dr. Rodney King, District 2 Greensburg City Council; Darrell Poling, District 4 Greensburg City Council; Mark Carman, Greensburg City Council At-Large; Darrell Tressler, Greensburg City Council At-Large; Vietta McKenzie, Greensburg City Council At-Large; and Russell Wilson, St. Paul Town Council.

Swearing in at another time were Jamie Cain, District 3 Greensburg City Council; and Rick Emsweller, Districts 4 Greensburg City Council.
