The Dodgers’ newest superstar is getting the larger-than-life treatment in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles, as a new mural featuring pitcher and slugger Shohei Ohtani is coming into focus.

The mural is located on the wall of the 11-story Miyako Hotel, and it’s being created by artist Robert Vargas, as reported by Japanese-American newspaper The Rafu Shimpo.

While The Rafu Shimpo reports that the mural won’t be done until March 27, the day before the Dodgers’ home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals, the 150-foot-by-60-foot piece is coming together.

Ohtani’s face is already clearly visible, as is a portion of the Dodgers’ logo, though the rest of the jersey has not yet been completed.

When it’s finished, Dodger fans will be able to see the Japanese superstar in action as both a pitcher and a batter, The Rafu Shimpo reports.
