Teen victim identified in deadly Daleville shooting

DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) – Officials are investigating an early morning shooting that left one teen dead in Daleville.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the victim as 17-year-old Jacob Wade Smith of Daleville.

According to Daleville Police Chief John Crawford, Smith was shot in the neck at a home in the 100 block of Woodland Drive after an argument between Smith and a family member.

Chief Crawford says charges have not been filed in the investigation.

Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Daleville Police Department are working on the investigation together.
