Murder suspects are among escapees from juvenile detention center, Tennessee cops say

Police say they are looking for four teenagers, two of them murder suspects, who escaped a Tennessee detention center.

Decorrius Wright, 16, and Morris Marsh, 17, both accused of murder, escaped from the Juvenile Detention Center in downtown Nashville at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday along with Brandon Caruthers, 17, and Calvin Howse, 15, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The four teens were on work detail when their supervisor went to handle a fight somewhere else, police say.

That’s when police say the teens got on an elevator and used “staff protocols” to get to the ground floor, where they “went through a series of doors” and escaped. Police were told about the escape about 35 minutes later.

Police said Sunday they are “actively searching” for the teens, all of whom are considered dangerous.

Caruthers and Howse both have “armed robbery and gun possession charges in their arrest histories,” police say.

The teens were last seen on South 2nd Street, running toward Jefferson Street, police say.
