Muscat Residents Rescued as Cyclone Shaheen Brings Deadly Flooding to Oman

At least nine people were killed on October 3 as Cyclone Shaheen lashed parts of Oman and Iran, Al Jazeera reported.

Footage released by Oman’s National Committee for Emergency Management shows crews evacuating residents in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday.

Early on October 4, local authorities in Oman changed Shaheen’s status from a cyclone to a tropical storm. Heavy rainfall and strong winds were expected to continue across parts of the country’s north. Credit: National Committee for Emergency Management via Storyful
