"My father acquired all the paintings that were displayed at the public auction after King Saud was abdicated. The paintings, of course, are the most important works of Picasso, Monet and a large number of artists, including Michelangelo and Frans Hals. These works form the crown jewel in my collection that I keep today."
Al-Zobidy calls himself a defender of Saudi history
and hopes the museum will help to preserve it for future generations
