Lip Sync Battle for CASA of West Central Illinois

What: See local celebrities battle it out with boy band/girl band songs. All proceeds benefit CASA of West Central Illinois for support and advocacy of abused and neglected children in our court system.

Thursday Night Jazz

What: The Knox Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Justin Haynes kicks off Jazz Night, then enjoy performances by Jason Brannon's combo and the Knox Cherry St. Combo. All ages are welcome. There's a full bar and you can bring food from any of our local restaurants, some within walking distance. No outside beverages allowed.

Candy Sushi for Teens

What: Make “sushi” out of candy, sweets, and snacks, then eat it. Advance sign-up required. Please notify library staff of any food allergies when signing up. Open to teens ages 12-18 or in grades 7-12.

Over the River and Through the Woods

What: Nick, a single Italian American guy from New Jersey, spends every Sunday dinner with both sets of grandparents. They love it; he's okay with it. It becomes a routine until he is offered his dream job in Seattle. His grandparents then scheme to keep him where he belongs in New Jersey. This play has equal parts laughter and tears.

DINOvember

Merry Markets

What: Get ahead on holiday shopping and support local artisans. In addition to pieces available in our gift shop, artisans will showcase creations in the middle gallery. The featured artist Nov. 11 will be Carine Brown.

New Friends Old Places

What: Explore the gallery and see oil paintings depicting childhood memories of the Bishop Hill Colony (1846-1861) by folk artist, Olof Krans. New acquisitions will be on display as well as important colony artifacts, unraveling the story of this immigrant communal society.

All American Ale Beer Release Party and concert with Brushville

What: Head into the taproom for the second batch of the All-American Ale with proceeds going to all the Knox County Honor Guards (Galesburg, Williamsfield and Abingdon). These groups of veterans attend funerals of fellow veterans to fold and deliver U.S. burial flags to families, present a playing of Taps, and perform gun salutes by rifle squads. They facilitate all this through their own funding. There will also be food available and live music.

5th Annual Honor Flight Trivia Knight

What: This event benefits Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Come hungry for Kiwanis Tacos Night. 10 rounds of general trivia, 50/50 raffle and silent auction. Bring your favorite snacks.

Cherry Street Barrel Pick & Tasting Event

What: Cherry Street and Cedar Ridge handpicked a barrel proof bourbon and will be bottling and selling it to the public. Cedar Ridge will provide samples of their other bourbon lineups. As an added treat, they'll be giving away some special bottles, plus an overnight trip to the Cedar Ridge Distillery in Fisher, Iowa.
