Music event for young musicians in the Greenbrier Valley to be held at Carnegie Hall

LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) — One Night Only: A Celebration of Young Musicians in the Greenbrier Valley will be held at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg.

The concert will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in the Carnegie Hall Hamilton Auditorium Stage at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, West Virginia. It is presented by Carnegie Hall and Greenbrier County music and theatre educators, and is sponsored by Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC).

Tickets for the event are $5 per person, and more information and tickets can be found on the Carnegie Hall website, by calling 304-645-7917, and by stopping at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, West Virginia.

The Greenbrier Valley is home to such an array of talented kids and Carnegie Hall is thrilled to give them an opportunity to be in the limelight. We hope to be able to continue this event and give as many students performing opportunities in the future.

The event will give music students in grades 6-12 who live or take lessons in the Greenbrier Valley a chance to perform. Student stage/tech crew members, Kimmi Butler and Preston Hedrick, and a student Emcee, Teagan Mandeville will assist with the concert.

More than 45 students were judged by video entries for ensembles and solo performers, such as vocalists, full rock bands, horn players, and solo piano performers. Over 40 submissions were sent to Carnegie Hall, and the top 25 were chosen for the event.

Some of the performers chosen for the One Night Only: A Celebration of Young Musicians in the Greenbrier Valley event include Aubrey Adkins, Joshua Alley, Ella Butler, Theo Crowell, Lily Dense, Ezra Dick, Tad Elkins, Kylee Fury, Keean Hedrick, Alexus Hill, Mason Huffman, Lydia Jackson, Mary Johnson, Sasha Lanek, Lucia Lipton, Lillian Long, Sal Marks, Ashley Meadows, Isaac Tincher, Wyatt Thornton, Coleton Utterback, Alyson Vandall, Emma Vincent, Nathaniel Vincent, Arabella Webb, The Shattered Glass (Second Block Rock Group), Enceladus Quartet (Heartstrings Academy), and The Arrivals (Second Block Rock Group).

Carnegie Hall thanked Susan Adkins, Sally Bray, CAMC, Bill Clapham, Harmony Flora, Birch Graves, Gibbs Kinderman, Mary Leb, Kit Lindsey, Cathy Rennard, Susanna Robinson, Cathy Sawyer, David Webb, Nancy Wood, and teachers and music instructors in Greenbrier County for encouraging student participation.
