All IN Music Festival announces 2023 lineup, and it's quite different from 2022
All IN Music & Arts Festival, a two-day rock festival that debuted at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 2022, has announced a jam-band heavy lineup and scaled back plans for its second year.
Phish frontman Trey Anastasio will perform with his side project, Classic Tab, at the two-day festival scheduled for Sep. 9-10 at the fairgrounds. South Bend favorites Umphrey's McGee and Grateful Dead cover band Joe Russo's Almost Dead also top the lineup.
The headliners will perform inside Indiana Farmers Coliseum, while other acts will perform outside along the Fairgrounds' Main Street. Last year, rain delayed several performances, including headliner John Fogerty. This new system will prevent a repeat of that, organizers said.
Other performers include: Greensky Bluegrass, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Cory Wong, The Main Squeeze, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Neighbor, Eggy, Karina Rykman and Hyryder.

The locally run festival will also include two "dreamsets," odes to classic rock acts performed by members of multiple modern bands, covering Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. The latter performance will feature a recreation of The Beatles famed 1964 fairgrounds performance.
The Led Zeppelin dreamset will feature Umphrey's McGee and Jason Bonham, son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a news release.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at allinfestival.com.
So far, the 2023 lineup is a marked departure in both genre and mainstream popularity from 2022's inaugural festival.
Last year's initial lineup announcement included headliners Daryl Hall & John Oates, Cage the Elephant, John Fogerty and Portugal. The Man. Death Cab for Cutie was later announced as a fifth headliner.
Organizers will limit this year's festival to 7,200 attendees per day — a reduction in scale from last year's festival, which set a 12,500 capacity. Ticket sales for 2022 were never released, but both days' crowds appeared to fall well below that goal.
Prior to last year's festival, All IN's organizers told IndyStar they hoped to eventually grow attendance to 50,000 or 60,000 fans daily.
The festival will also feature local art, food and beverages. Camping and VIP options are available.
