New music festival coming to Sacramento for first time with big names in reggae, island music
A new music festival is coming to the capital region for the first time, celebrating reggae and island sounds.
After having its inaugural show in 2022 at the Frost Theater in Stanford, Holo Holo Music Festival is coming to West Sacramento and Las Vegas this year. From Sept. 9 to Sept. 10, the event will showcase top reggae artists at Sutter Health Park.
The weekend festival is produced by Good Vibez Presents, which also hosts the California Roots Music and Arts Festival in Monterey.
“Growing up in Ewa Beach, O’ahu, island music and reggae were the soundtracks to my childhood,” Good Vibez Presents owner Dan Sheehan stated on the festival website. “These styles of music — the heartbeat of the islands — is the backbone of my work as a festival producer and venue owner. A big part of Good Vibez Presents is discovery, and I’m honored to be able to showcase and celebrate these bands at the Holo Holo Festivals.”
What’s the lineup?
On Saturday, Kolohe Kai, one of Hawaii’s top streamed reggae artists, according to the festival, is headlining the show. Grammy-nominated J Boog, Fiji and Rebel Souljahz will also perform.
On Sunday, Orange County-based band Common Kings and Steel Pulse from the UK are headlining, along with Maoli and Three Plus.

Where is the venue?
The festival is at Sutter Heath Park, 400 Ballpark Dr, West Sacramento.
Tickets
You can get tickets online. All ages are welcome.
General admission for single day Saturday is currently on “waitlist” for $140, with fees included. This means you can reserve this ticket in case there is availability. According to the ticketing website, it is first come, first served and your card will not be charged until a ticket is available.
Sunday general admission is available for sale at $120, fees included.
