Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the traditional summer vacation season, an occasion celebrated with an assortment of activities at the World’s Most Famous Beach.

From music to museums, there will be plenty of opportunities to shift into the summer mindset.

Now embarking on a solo career, Kelley — the son of former Volusia County Council Chair Ed Kelley — mined recollections of his formative years on the waterways and baseball diamonds of his hometown to create the beachy vibe of his debut solo album, “Sunshine State of Mind.”

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show range from $29-$94 plus fees online at DaytonaBandshell.com and ticketmaster.com.

A beloved Daytona Beach summer staple returns with the first show in the summer-long “Star Spangled Summer Concert Series,” an annual free Saturday night showcase at the Bandshell.
