Henry Mancini composed many songs that remain popular today.

His career and his music will be celebrated in “The Music of Mancini,” set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 S. Monroe St. Tickets are $39 for adults, $35 for seniors and $20 for students. For tickets, visit www.riverraisincentre.org or call the box office at 734-242-RRCA.

Mancini began his career in 1946 with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and later found fame in Hollywood when he composed popular songs for TV and film, including “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and the theme for 1963’s “The Pink Panther."

He’s also known from songs “Too Little Time,” “The Days of Wine and Roses” and the Oscar-winning “Moon River.”

Sunday's show also will include narration on Mancini’s career. The composer died in 1994.

"The Music of Mancini" will be presented by Jukebox Saturday Night, which is managed by Glenn Miller Productions. Jukebox Saturday Night also tours with a Big Band Review show.

“Audiences can expect the same quality as the Glenn Miller Orchestra,” event organizers said.

“The Music of Mancini” is sponsored by Floral City Beverage, Durocher’s and Quality Inn and Suites.
