Donald Trump meets Louis Vuitton
President Donald Trump and Bernard Arnault — founder and chairman of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton — met in Johnson County, Texas on Oct. 17 to cut the ribbon on the French luxury house's newest workshop. The brand is now the first major fashion group to publicly align itself with the president, though. {The New York Times}

Overcoming the makeup slump
As beauty consumption habits change, the effects are being felt industry-wide as consumers are gravitating more towards skin care than color cosmetics. Gen-Z shoppers are reportedly not wearing makeup at all, which means retailers need to change the way they sell beauty to stay afloat. Consolidating existing color lines, increasing skin-care assortments and updating store layouts may be what helps to keep beauty retailers relevant. {Business of Fashion}

Deciem's plan to bounce back
After the death of its founder Brandon Truaxe in January, Deciem's CEO Nicola Kilner has been working to restore the brand's stability. Though Truaxe had a tumultuous last few months at the company, Kilner credits him for Deciem's rapid growth and hopes to utilize his self-sustaining model with a unique emphasis on its employees. Through the rest of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Deciem plans to release 32 new products, two new categories and a full bath-and-body collection. {Vogue}

London's designers face Brexit
In just two weeks, the United Kingdom is set to break with the European Union and London's emerging designers fear the tax increases, customs delays and higher supply costs that Brexit will bring. Already, designers have left London ahead of the break, but those who are willing to stay have begun to change the way they work in order to overcome the potential business threat. {Business of Fashion}

Prada will show Resort 2021 in Japan
After hosting its men's Spring 2020 runway show in Shanghai in June, Prada will show its Resort 2021 collection in Japan on May 21 at an undisclosed location. This will be the first time Prada has shown in Japan. {WWD}

GQ's discovery that men wear makeup
GQ's November "The New Masculinity Issue" attempts to highlight what the magazine believes to be current trends surrounding masculinity. Though at first glance its statement seems powerful and almost necessary, some believe it to be a capitalistic proposition to stay afloat and relevant. {Very Good Light}
