MUST SEE: SpaceX Crew-7 Dragon Capsule Flies Over NWA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — If you were up early Tuesday morning at approximately 4:37 A.M. on March 12, 2024, you were treated to an incredible sight as the SpaceX Crew-7 Dragon Endurance capsule re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere! This comes after the crew spent about 199 days in orbit at the International Space Station.

As the capsule was descending back to Earth, it appeared as a slow-moving fireball that was streaking through the sky from northwest-to-southeast. This is because the capsule was moving faster than the speed of sound, which also caused a sonic boom that was heard shortly after the capsule went over the horizon in Northwest Arkansas! A few minutes after the capsule sailed over our area, the capsule landed in the Gulf of Mexico, where the crew was intercepted by a recovery team!

We would love to see any photo or video you may have captured from this awesome event!
