MW releases cross-country preseason rankings

Aug. 26—LARAMIE — The Mountain West released its cross-country preseason predicted order of finish on Wednesday with the University of Wyoming men picked fifth and the women in sixth.

Both squads were at the same spots they finished at last season's MW championships.

Wyoming will host this season's MW championships at Jacoby Golf Course on Oct. 28. It will be the first time since 2010 the Cowboys and Cowgirls hosted the conference's culminating meet.

UW will get its season started with the annual Wyoming Invite, scheduled for Sept. 3 at Little America in Cheyenne.

Other meets this season for UW will be at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area on Sept. 23, and the Weis-Crockett Invitational (Pre-Nationals) Oct. 15 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, before the conference meet.

After the MW championships, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete at the NCAA Mountain Regional Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Nov. 11 and the NCAA championships will be back in Stillwater on Nov. 19.
