Recap: The Iowa Cubs jumped on Tobias Myers and the Clippers early on the way to a 7-2 win. Myers (1-9), who has lost his last six decisions dating back to May 18, allowed seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and a walk with four strikeouts. The Cubs scored four runs in the first led by Jared Young's two run homer. Young had three hits and two runs scored. Nolan Jones had both RBIs for the Clippers with a triple in the first and double in the third.

Of Note: Myers has given up 29 hits and 19 runs over his last four starts. ... In 13 career games versus the Cubs Jones is hitting .341 (13-44) with 12 RBIs. ...The Guardians purchased the contract of RHP Ian Gibaut, recalled RHP Anthony Castro and Konnor Pilkington as a DH for Tuesday's game.
