Myles Garrett appeal hearing set for Wednesday; Garrett reportedly wants to attend
The NFL moved quickly to hand down several punishments from last Thursday night’s Cleveland Browns-Pittsburgh Steelers brawl, announcing suspensions for Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi and Pittsburgh’s Maurkice Pouncey late Friday morning.
Garrett, who received an indefinite suspension that will last at least until the end of the regular season (and playoffs, if the Browns qualify), has decided to appeal the decision.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Monday afternoon that Garrett’s appeal will be heard on Wednesday by James Thrash, one of two appeals officers jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association.
Citing a source, Schefter also said that Garrett wants to be there in person at the league offices in New York to state his case in person.
Garrett’s argument will reportedly focus on the “indefinite” language used. The collective bargaining agreement does not allow for indefinite suspensions for on-field conduct.
Now, Garrett could make this argument and Thrash could call his bluff by responding, “Here’s a defined term: 10 games,” or something along those lines. That would be concrete — and longer that what Garrett is hoping for. He’d like the six-game minimum reduced as well.
Ogunjobi’s appeal took place earlier Monday, and Pouncey’s will happen on Tuesday.
