My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell walked off during an interview with a Daily Show correspondent after he was confronted about his claims that former President Donald Trump would be reinstated later this year.

The exchange between Daily Show correspondent Jordan Klepper and Lindell occurred during a rally in New Richmond, Wisconsin, on Saturday.

When asked by Klepper whether he thinks Trump will be reinstated as president later this year, Lindell replied, "Absolutely."

Other members of the former president's entourage, such as attorney Sidney Powell, have boasted unsupported claims that Trump could "simply be reinstated." However, experts insist there is no legal mechanism for such a maneuver.

"This is the crime of the century you're describing, and they came to the My Pillow guy," Klepper said. "It's like watching that Bigfoot show. They don't find Bigfoot at the end, but if you tune in next week, maybe it's going to happen."

The My Pillow founder laughed at Klepper's remark, saying, "Good one." Klepper responded, "Thank you," before a long pause, followed by Lindell storming off, saying, "You guys are horrible."

Lindell posted a leaked video of the exchange before Comedy Central aired the episode on June 17, telling former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on June 16 that Daily Show producers insisted the interview be conducted in front of portable toilets.

Earlier this month, Lindell appeared to back away from previous claims that Trump would be reinstated as president by August. At a rally in Michigan, he said that his earlier prediction was "me being hopeful" and, "I could be off by a month or so, I don't know."

It would be constitutionally impossible for Trump to return as president without running again for office in 2024, as there are no legal means for a former president to return to office during a new president's term. The only way to remove President Joe Biden from office would be to impeach and convict him or invoke the 25th Amendment, although doing so would result in the current vice president taking his place.

The Washington Examiner contacted Lindell but did not immediately receive a response.
