Myriad Gardens' Pumpkinville voted best pumpkin patch in the nation

As the Myriad Botanical Gardens gears up for its annual Pumpkinville event, it has been voted the best pumpkin patch of 2022 in a USA Today competition.

Announced Sept. 23, Pumpkinville topped the list of USA Today's 10 Best Pumpkin Patches nationwide. The event is scheduled for Oct. 7-23. The garden's largest annual event, almost 30,000 attended the 2021 pumpkin patch.

Started in 2012 with 3,000 pumpkins to choose from, this year's event will feature 40,000 pumpkins. The event is decorated with handmade displays of pumpkins, haystacks and mums and features daily activities, face painting, crafts and rides.

Several events are planned throughout Pumpkinville, including a dog costume contest, trick-or-treating and a sensory-friendly night.

Other 10 Best Pumpkin Patch winners are located throughout the United States, including Indiana, Maryland and Washington.
