The Transportation Security Administration has begun installing new CT X-Ray scanners at MYR’s airport security checkpoint last week.

The new scanners will create a 3-D image of carry-on bags’ contents and can automatically detect explosives and other dangerous items, the post said.

The new equipment will save time and will eliminate the need for manual inspection of bags. Passengers will be able to leave laptops and electronic devices in their carry-on, the post said.

All six lanes at the airport will be equipped with the new scanners, and travelers will be able to have a more efficient screening experience, the post said.
