Myrtle Beach International named among America’s top small airports. Here’s how it ranked

Myrtle Beach is home to one of the country’s best small airports, thanks to its ease of access from check-in to boarding and its centralized location.

That’s according to an Oct. 13 USA Today 10Best reader poll that put Myrtle Beach International fourth best nationally in between Wichita, Kansas, and Ronkonkoma, New York.

“Myrtle Beach International Airport ranks among the fastest growing airports in the state. Passengers fly in and out on 10 different airlines to more than 50 destinations across North America, USA Today editors wrote.

“It wins high marks from passengers for its convenient location and the ease of getting through security and to your gate.”

Myrtle Beach International was named America’s best small airport in a 2021 10Best poll.

The recognition comes on the heels of a record setting year at the airport, which saw 3.5 million passengers in 2022.

Additionally, Avelo, Southwest and Spirit all launched routes to regional hubs in Connecticut, Colorado and New Hampshire.
