This Myrtle Beach Planet Fitness has been totally renovated. Take a look inside
The Planet Fitness in Seaboard Commons was hopping this morning, the day of its long-awaited reopening after four months of renovations.
The location closed in mid-September and was scheduled to reopen on Dec. 16. Difficulty finding electricians and supply chain shortages pushed back the construction schedule, said general manager Jennifer McLeod.
“We did a complete demolition of the entire inside. So all the floors are brand new, the walls are brand new, the ceilings are painted, the locker rooms are brand new, new equipment,” McLeod said.
The gym on Seaboard Street, close to Sam’s Club and Target, now features over 200 pieces of cardio and strength equipment. New to the location are four spin bikes and a wellness pod, a 15-minute relaxation station with scent and heat controls.
On Monday morning, the gym was already busy with members of all ages, from 20-somethings to seniors.
Margie Spivey of Myrtle Beach has frequented the Seaboard Street gym for over five years.
“It feels good,” Spivey said about being back at the location right around the corner from her.
Ed Emielita of Myrtle Beach said he was also glad for the convenient location.
“They did a nice job remodeling, so it’s nice and clean,” he said.
