After mysterious disappearance of Texas soldier, Salma Hayek joins effort to find her

Actress Salma Hayek is joining the search effort to find missing Army soldier Vanessa Guillen, who mysteriously disappeared from a Texas base in late April.

Guillen, 20, vanished from Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, on April 22, leaving behind her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet in a room where she was working that day, officials say.

Her disappearance has prompted a search and investigation.

Hayek posted a photo of Guillen on Instagram Thursday, vowing to continue raising awareness by posting her picture every day until she is found.

The organization Find Vanessa Guillen plans to protest Friday afternoon at the Army base to continue bringing attention to her case.

In an update Thursday, Army officials said special agents with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command have met with Guillen’s family throughout the investigation. The Army is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.

“Pfc. Vanessa Guillen is a highly valued member of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment,” 3rd Cavalry Regiment commander Col. Ralph Overland said in a press release. “We will maintain our resolve to locate Pfc. Vanessa Guillen and will continue our efforts until she is found. We will never quit searching.”
