N. 25th Street house fire ruled arson, fire department says

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating a vacant house fire early Sunday morning.

According to the fire department, around 3:30 a.m., firefighters were called to a reported house fire in the 800 block of N. 25th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the attic of the empty home. The fire crew entered the home and started putting out the fire that was contained in the attic space.

Though the fire was in the attic, the home is considered a total loss, according to the fire department.

EBR Schools board recommends Adam Smith as interim superintendent

Fire investigators arrived on the scene and later determined the fire was ruled arson.
