N.H. State Police say 77-year-old Hudson man was killed in single-car crash

SEABROOK, N.H A 77-year-old Hudson, Mass., man was killed Tuesday night in a single-car crash on Interstate 95 just over the Massachusetts border.

In a press release, New Hampshire State Police identified the crash victim as Eraldo Bezerra.

Police said that at 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to a report of a "serious motor-vehicle crash" on I-95 northbound in Seabrook in which a 2012 Chevrolet Express Van struck a bridge abutment.

Upon arrival, troopers determined that the van's operator was its only occupant, and was entrapped and unresponsive inside. After the driver was extracted from the van, he was declared dead by emergency medical personnel.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the van left the roadway on the right side for an unknown reason, traveled about 200 feet in the grass and then struck the bridge abutment at the Route 107 overpass. It came to rest in the right breakdown lane.

The crash remains under investigation.
