East Texas libraries given state award for excellence
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) – Two East Texas libraries were recently awarded by the state for overall excellence.
Texas company awards more than $30K in scholarships to high school seniors
The Achievement of Excellence award was given to the Longview Public Library and the Judy B. McDonald Public Library in Nacogdoches. The awards are from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association, and libraries are judged by the following criteria:
Services to underserved populations
Innovative and effective marketing
Collaboration with community organizations
Enhanced service to the public
Literacy support for all ages
Digital inclusion
Workforce development
Cultural, topical and educational programming for adults and families
Professional training opportunities for staff
Other services that support the community
Lindale teacher earns national board certification
This is the second year in a row the Nacogdoches library has made this accomplishment.
