Naked man tries to climb aboard a school bus with kids inside, Arkansas cops say

Children on a school bus in Arkansas got quite a scare on Thursday, police say.

That morning, police in Maumelle — located roughly 16 miles northwest of Little Rock— responded to a report that a naked man was in the parking lot of a nearby hotel, the department said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they say they found the man near a McDonald’s running around and yanking branches from a tree, according to KARK.

Police say he’d crossed a highway and tried to enter a school bus before they’d arrived.

Initially, police believed the bus was empty, but later learned six children and two adults were inside at the time the man tried to climb aboard, according to the news release.

A man inside the bus told police he’d locked the doors when he saw the naked man approaching, KARK reported. The naked man allegedly tried to pry the doors open, but the man inside kicked his fingers, according to the outlet.

Officers were able to detain the man before medical professionals looked him over and ultimately sent him to the hospital for further evaluation, police say.

He’s charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and possession of marijuana, police say.
