Finally, You season 3 has dropped on Netflix, and Joe and Love are back on our screens with their new life in the suburbs. But as it turns out, the fictional town of Madre Linda actually has a secret meaning.

The new season sees Joe and Love married (and in marriage counselling) living a 'quiet life' after welcoming their first son, Henry. Love opens up a bakery, while Joe is working in the local library (side note: who knew he'd find so many book-related vacancies?)

As we soon find out, motherhood is a significant theme in You's latest season, as Love does everything in her power to protect their son - including some, er, fairly violent outbursts.

Which might be why the fictional town in Northern California where they end up living actually has a secret meaning. Madre Linda translates to "beautiful mother" in Spanish, a foreshadowing for the new parents' aims in life.

The more you know, eh?

In a new interview with InStyle, Penn Badgely who plays Joe opened up about becoming a father himself in 2020. The actor welcomed his first child, James, with Domino Kirke last August.

"I don't know what it's like to be at least a biological father outside of the pandemic," he admitted. "It's just been us, my wife and I, taking care of him. And as a result, in some ways, we're thrilled, there's a beautiful joy and lightness to our connection with him. He seems to reflect that. And at the same time, it's so hard."

If only Joe was so perceptive.
