Here’s who you named the Centre Daily Times’ Boys and Girls Athlete of the Week for Sept. 12-19

A Bald Eagle athlete and a Bellefonte athlete were named the Centre Daily Times Boys and Girls Athletes of the Week for Sept. 12-19.

In the boys’ poll, Bald Eagle football’s Trey Greene won with 48% of the vote (4,682 votes). Penns Valley football’s Ty Watson placed second with 44% of the vote (4,287 votes) and Bellefonte cross country’s Chase Ebeling took third with 4% of the vote (355 votes).

Greene had seven carries for 184 yards and two touchdowns on offense and added 14 total tackles (12 solo) on defense in a 42-27 win over Penns Valley on Sept. 16.

In the girls’ poll, Bellefonte girls soccer’s Keira Whitman won the second week in a row. She had 65% of vote (5,618 votes) and Bellefonte cross country’s Ashleigh Aukerman finished second with 18% of the vote (1,572 votes). Penns Valley volleyball’s Ellie Coursen had 14% of the vote (1,197 votes).

Whitman made 61 saves from Sept. 13-19 for Bellefonte and allowed 2.353 goals per game. She ranked fourth in Pennsylvania in saves with 101 at the time of the poll.
