PORTSMOUTH — The Kane Company (“Kane”), a privately-owned real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, announced its appointment of Brett Tonks as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

The newly established role will drive the company’s long-term strategy to expand its position as one of northern New England’s largest commercial real estate investors and developers. Since celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021, the company is forging its path into the next decade building on the region’s economic and population surge. Kane’s long-standing approach of enhancing the communities in which it operates by investing in spaces that add value to tenants is a core principle that will guide its expansion.

Tonks brings over 20 years of executive leadership to Kane, including investment and management positions with Colony Capital, Colony Realty Partners, TIAA-CREF, and Eastern Bank.

Erica Leslie joins Northwestern Mutual

PORTSMOUTH — Erica Leslie has joined leading financial security company Northwestern Mutual – Portsmouth, N.H., as financial representative, effective March 25.

In her new role, Leslie will join a team of specialists offering a wide array of products. In offering comprehensive financial planning, she will provide expert guidance and innovative solutions for a variety of financial needs and goals.

Before joining Northwestern Mutual, Leslie was a Physical Therapist with Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth.

Leslie resides in New Hampshire. Leslie is a native of South Berwick, Maine. She graduated in 2019 from Franklin Pierce University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Vermont.

Leslie holds her Life, Accident, and Health license in N.H., Maine, Mass., R.I., N.J., Vt., and Wash. Currently, Leslie is building upon her skills and growing her practice to include more people, families, and businesses, utilizing a well rounded approach to financial planning.

First Seacoast Bank welcomes Bonnie Roberts

DOVER – Timothy F. Dargan, First Seacoast Bank Senior Vice President, Senior Commercial Loan Officer announced the addition of Bonnie Roberts as Vice President, Senior Commercial Portfolio Lending Officer. With over 21 years of commercial banking experience in the N.H. Seacoast area Bonnie is well versed in helping local business owners and is dedicated to the community.

Bonnie holds a degree from Northern Essex Community College and enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her son Justin, daughter Brooke and dog Charlotte.

As a member of the First Seacoast Bank commercial lending team, Bonnie will work in the Bank’s Portsmouth office, located at 1650 Woodbury Avenue.

Samantha Marshall joins St. Mary’s Bank as Community Relations Coordinator

MANCHESTER — St. Mary’s Bank welcomes new hire Samantha Marshall as community relations coordinator. In this role, Marshall will provide leadership to enhance community outreach programs and activities, some of which include community outreach, donation and sponsorship requests, financial education, community and member events, and more.

“Samantha has a broad range of experience that includes management, training, program development, and marketing to name just a few areas in which she has demonstrated excellence,” said Elizabeth Stodolski, director of marketing. “She will play a pivotal role in helping advance our financial literacy and education programs as well as the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people.’”

Marshall most recently served as manager of Education and Asset Building Programs at Affordable Housing Education and Development in Littleton. Within this role, Samantha taught hundreds of financial and homebuyer education workshops as well as developed asset-building programs to help low-to-moderate income families save for college, retirement, and home purchase. As a HUD certified Housing Counselor and Reverse Mortgage Counselor, Samantha brings a wealth of knowledge pertaining to home purchase, foreclosure prevention and reverse mortgages. Samantha currently serves on the NH Endowment for Health Advisory Council and as an advisor to the NH Charitable Foundation’s Tillotson Fund. Marshall holds a BA in Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
