NORTH BERWICK, Maine — For just the second time in its 187-year history, Hussey Seating Company has named a non-family member as President. Brian Deveaux will assume the role of President of Hussey Seating as of July 1. Current President, Gary Merrill, will remain at the organization as CEO. Merrill has been President and CEO since 2016 and was the first non-family member to hold these roles.

“This is an important step forward in our company’s history,” said Letitia Hussey Beauregard, Hussey Seating Company’s Board Chair, and 6th Generation family shareholder. “Gary’s leadership over the past six years has led to record growth for our business. With Brian leading day-to-day operations and Gary providing strategic oversite, we expect to flourish even more under these two dynamic leaders. The Board and the entire Hussey Family fully support this transition and welcome Brian to his new role.”

Prior to joining Hussey Seating, Deveaux was a partner and co-founder of Leaders LLC, a Portland-based advisory firm that specialized in advising family businesses in strategic transactions. Prior to former Leaders, her served as Chief Operating Officer of surgical instrument manufacturer, Seabrook International, and held management positions in operations, planning, and inventory control at Bath Iron Works, a General Dynamics subsidiary. He graduated from Bowdoin College with degrees in Math and Economics.

Sabrina joins the firm as an Of Counsel attorney in the Corporate Department and Real Estate Practice Group. She is an accomplished and respected attorney who is well versed in a wide range of practice areas, including corporate and business law, commercial and residential real estate, banking and commercial transactions, bankruptcy, estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Throughout her career, Sabrina has advised business clients on matters regarding governance, contracts, finance, general corporate issues, dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, creditors’ rights, real estate, evictions, and succession planning.

Sabrina has achieved the AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She has also been selected for the Best Lawyers in America 2022 list for Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships) and Litigation – Bankruptcy.

PORTSMOUTH Sheehan Phinney welcomes Eric T. Kilchenstein to the firm, where he will work primarily out of the firm’s Portsmouth and Manchester, N.H. offices.

Kilchenstein’s practice includes commercial real estate, general corporate work and commercial finance across numerous industry sectors. He has extensive experience representing businesses, non-profits, and institutional clients of all sizes.

In his commercial real estate and finance practice, Kilchenstein advises private developers, lenders, investors, charities and business entities. His practice includes entity formation, portfolio and other property acquisitions, due diligence, permitting, debt and equity financing, condominium formation and operations, commercial leasing, sales and other dispositions.

In his corporate and business practice, Kilchenstein assists businesses from start to finish, beginning with the formation process and continuing with general counsel assistance with addressing the legal issues that arise during business operations, and ending with the development of an exit strategy, including sales and mergers and acquisitions.

Kilchenstein has been active in the New England legal and nonprofit community for nearly twenty years and has served on various community boards in the area. He recently served for six years as the Treasurer of the Board of his local animal shelter and he is the current Chair of the Real Estate Section of the New Hampshire Bar. Kilchenstein received his B.A. from Mary Washington College and his J.D from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
